The
The Sunday School begins at 11.00 when they meet and join with the rest
of the congregation for morning worship. After an address from Mr Carmichael,
they go through to the hall where they continue with their own programme.
After some singing, the boys and girls split into the junior section,
senior section and Bible Class where they are taught from the Bible
by their teacher using Scripture Press or Go Teach workbooks. The Sunday
school runs from September - June. During July and August the regular
sunday school team enjoy a break while the Summer Sunday School team
takes over.
The
Ark meets on a Friday morning between 10:00am and 11:30am. It's a fun
time for pre-school children to come, make friends and enjoy play with
their parents, grandparents or carers. There are lots of activities,
all loads of fun for the children to get involved in. There's usually
something to make or do, with access to soft play or a ball pool. There's
also a singing time. Grown-ups get to enjoy coffee and cake while watching
their youngsters play. It is a warm and friendly gathering in a Christian
environment and everyone is made most welcome. There is a charge of
£1.50 for the first child and £1 for subsequent children
from the same family.
The
The Youth club takes place every Saturday night between 6.30 to 9.00pm,
where as many as forty school age children meet for games and activities.
The aim of the Youth Club is to provide a safe environment for children,
P6 and above, on a Saturday night, where they can meet with friends,
play games and hear something of the Gospel message through the "middlelogue"
- a short Gospel presentation in the middle of the evening.
The
The Youth Fellowship normally meets immediately after evening worship.
On alternate Sundays, when there is no evening worship, members of the
Youth Fellowship meet for prayer at 7pm, with the main meeting beginning
at 7.30pm. The Youth Fellowship provides teaching, opportunities for
participation in Bible Study and discussion groups. It promotes friendship
and fellowship among young people aged 14 and above. Social events are
organised on a regular basis. TNT ('Thursday Night Thing') takes place
in the hall every Thursday at 7pm, providing opportunity for leisure
and sporting activity.
The
The Girls' Brigade takes place on Tuesday evenings for girls from Primary
1 to Secondary 6, with the older girls having opportunities of leadership
training and service to church and community.
The Girls' Brigade is a worldwide Christian organisation for girls
and women whose aim it is to help and encourage girls to a Christian
commitment. It is our desire to create a caring environment which
encourages the development of individual talents and seeks to meet
the needs of each member. Girls' Brigade is very often the only contact
that some girls have with the Church. This provides opportunities
to make contact with the wider family through special events and services,
all of these opening up avenues to reach young people for Christ.
"The Church of Scotland Guild is a movement within the Church of
Scotland which invites and encourages both women and men to commit their
lives to Jesus Christ and enables them to express their faith in worship,
prayer and action."
Our Guild (formerly the Womens' Guild) is open to all and currently
enjoys a gathering of all ages. The programme is varied, including visits
from guest speakers, missionaries, Bible studies and fellowship evenings
that are usually led by our own members. Meetings take place every second
Monday throughout the months of October - March.
We currently have four ladies bible study groups in operation. One meets
in the evening, while the other three are daytime groups. These Bible
Study groups, informal and lively, are designed to promote not only
an understanding of God's Word but also Christian fellowship and spiritual
nurture. If you would like more detailed information about these groups,
